    Upgrade instructions

    XL Deploy 8.0.0 shipped with a new SQL database backend. For detailed instructions, refer to Migrate XL Deploy data storage to an SQL database.

    For upgrade instructions, refer to Upgrade XL Deploy.

    Important: If you plan to skip versions when you upgrade, ensure that you read the version-specific upgrade notes for each intermediate version. You may be required to perform manual actions as part of the upgrade.

    XL Deploy 8.2.0

    XL Deploy 8.2.0 is a short-term support (STS) version that will be supported until it is superseded by the next STS or long-term support (LTS) version. STS versions do not receive specific maintenance releases. For more information, refer to Short-term support/Long-term support policy.

    XL Deploy 8.2.0 new features

    Implemented artifacts migration

    XL Deploy can be configured to store and retrieve artifacts in two local storage repository formats: file or db. You can now move artifacts stored in the file system to a database. For more information, see Move artifacts from the file system to a database.

    Added satellites summary view

    Added a summary view for satellites in XL Deploy. This view provides information about the satellite, helps you manage satellites and monitor their health from the XL Deploy user interface.For more information, see View satellite summary information.

    Store credentials for accessing artifacts securely

    When deploying applications, you can access the application artifacts that are stored in a repository such as Artifactory or Nexus. As of XL Deploy 8.2, you can store the credentials needed to access externally stored artifacts in a secure way, ensuring that user names and passwords cannot be read by other users.

    User Interface enhancements

    Added several improvements to the XL Deploy graphical user interface:

    • Right-click support for the configuration item tree in the Explorer
    • One-click copy of deployment task IDs
    • One-click save and close for configuration items
    • More filters on the Task Monitor for control tasks
    • Consistent date and time formats throughout the interface
